Ficking leaking cometic head gaskets...
The Cometic LS1 head gasket is a set of metal stampings riveted together in three spots. The core sheet has a separate 'double figure 8' which appears something like siamesed o-rings. This fits snugly within the outer core. If this center core sheet shifts, you have overlap between the core sheets. Then as far as sealing goes, you're shift out of luck.
Easy to tell by the carbon soot left in places it shouldn't be on the gasket.
On to fixing the oil pump o-ring.

In fact, the Turbo Buick camp will tell you that they still like the stock GM graphite gaskets best and thats with up to 20 psi boost. Thats all I ever used on my modified 89 TTA.
There is absolutly nothing wrong with the stock GM graphite gaskets.
