I have a sound coming from engine that sounds like if you have ever owned a motorcycle and rotated the rear tire while the bike was off the ground. the sound the chain makes while rotating. It seems more prone to happen after it sits for a half hour or cold starts. I have heard the same sound coming from my friends 03 6.0L Yukon. I heard possible timing chain on his end. Is there any truth to this. I just bought the car and it only has 35k miles. any help appreciated.

 

I seriously doubt it's the TC. The valvetrains in these cars are prone to be noisy so I wouldn't worry about it. Mines noisy sometimes and quiet the next. If I worried about every little noise it makes I would go crazy for sure

odds are its lifters if its just on cold starts
