Default T-Rex cam - timing chain and piston-valve

I already tried searching with no luck.

This is simple enough - What timing chain do you guys recommended to use with the TRex cam? Also, Will I have any piston-valve clearance issues with stock internal 02 LS1, 5.3 heads stock rockers, 918 springs?

Might want to check p to v just in case since you have aftermarket heads.

Get a double roller timing chain, they come with the spacers to shim the oil pump and then you have to grind the cover very slightly.

I had a big nasty cam in my car with the stock chain and stock heads. It ran for 4 weekends and then the timing chain snapped, bent my valves and nicked all 8 pistons.

Don't risk it.

What chain were you using though?

I was considering the LS2 for its simplicity and a somewhat worthy upgrade.

Also curious if anyone knows the "general" max duration and cam installed degress that LS engines can get away with on stock heads and gaskets. I was thinking 230's and 4* max area. Not for my car just curious.

JP chain set #5615T, ptv will be tight and use a DUAL spring with that profile imo.
