GMPP CNC Heads - Question for the LPE Guys
Can you please explain the differences in these heads:
88958622 - 60 CC CNC ported LS6 heads (hollow stem LS6 valves)
88958665 - 65 CC CNC ported LS6 heads (hollow stem LS6 valves)
88958765 - 65 CC CNC ported LS2 heads (solid stem LS2 valves)
Specifically, I'm interesed in the flow numbers off the CNC LS2 heads, and if there is any difference between them and the LS6 Showroom Stock racing heads.
Also, I'm running an otherwise stock LS1 short block with an ASA cam. Would the 60 cc heads be a good match with premium (92-93 octane) or would I be better off with the 65cc chambers?

I just bought a set of LS2 CNC heads to go on my 347 ls1
the shop told me that they flow them and got 306 at .700 if I can remember right
I paid $475 for the set plus shipping
the cast numbers and ports are exactly the same on the CNC ls6 (65cc) heads the only difference is the LS6 heads come with lighter intake valves and sodium filled exhaust valves this is why LS2 heads are cheaper
hope this helps

Yeah, I was always told that the only difference between the LS6 & LS2 were the valves also. Either of those LS6 heads will work just fine, however, the 61cc heads will bump your compression up more than the 65cc's will. The added compression will net a few more horses.
This is my plan as well. I have an ASA cam and was going to get the 61cc heads but got a killer deal on the 65cc version, so I'm just going to have them milled. I've talked to a few guys running the ASA/LS6 (61cc) combo, and they are putting down rwhp in the 430's.
