Common misconception/bad info out there, the LS1 and LS6's are 75 not 78, there was a discussion about it and someone pulled a blade out and measured it. I believe the thing is the intake opening is 78, I have not confirmed that, but have confirmed the blade size.

The inside diameter is probably 75mm which would make the outside diameter about 78mm. Hence the size of the intake.

Not to mention the aftermarket TB's going up over 100 mm for the hard-core among us . . . . .

What? the inside diameter of the throtte body is 75mm and the outside diameter of the blade is 75mm its all 75mm. Im guessing they just didnt care much if the intake matched
