Carb'd LS3 Questions....
I'm interested in putting the following engine in a road race race car;
http://www.crateenginedepot.com/stor...-P2282C53.aspx
1) Would this engine be a good choice for a road race motor?
2) Which controller is better the Edelbrock or the MSD 6LS? Is the LS3 58 teeth like the LS2?
3) The MSD does not come with a harness. Who makes a basic harness for a Carb'd LS3?
4) The stock oil pan does not have a windage tray or side resevoirs with traps. Would the stock oil pan starve the motor from oil during hard turns? If a stock pan is not safe to run, who makes a better pan?
Thanks!

The engine should work very well. The guys at Crate Motor Depot are cool also.
That engine uses a 58 tooth like most LS2 and all L92 and LS7. Get the MSD 6012. It does come with a harness. At least mine did
You can program your own timing curves or use plugs that have preset curves. For a road race car I would dyno to build a custom curve. You will need a laptop but it's not that hard.
The stock pan does have a windage tray. For road racing I would look at a Moroso pan and possibly a accusump for added security.

You need the 58x (6012) MSD which works perfect BTW. There is enough of a harness available from MSD.
the C6 oil pan is good but an Accusump is a good backup.
