Default Intake setup for L92's..thoughts..

Hopefully someone has a setup like this and can give some good input..

I currently have the L76 Intake on my L92's.

I was thinking of going to a Victor Jr. for them Heads, keeping it EFI and getting some Fuel Rails for it, and then using my 90mm Throttle Body with this Elbow..

The Cam I have is a 243/247, .621/.612, 114+3 LSA
Compression Ratio is about 10.7:1

Does anyone think that I will see a gain going to that setup from the L76, and where do you think it would be?

I have read that the GMPP/Vic. carb style manifolds' flow really suffer from the addition of elbows.... and that guys running no elbow and a 4 barrel TB like an accufab are having good luck

there looks to be some good intake options for the l92 on the horizon

on your setup with the l76 currently, how does the car feel?? when does it peak and start deminishing??

but thats usually associted with the fabricated sheetmetal elbows,
the ones like pictured actually flow very well, and merv has a 402 iirc,
its not like hes short on tq or hp.
i personally prefer the wilson type 90* elbows, i would not use one the fab. shtmetal in my project

I actually have the elbow pictured.... it is a nice piece

just wish some one like Richard @ WCCH or someone else would mess with the carb manifold/elbow combos and get some solid #'s out there.....if they ever have a spare chance, haha

not that it is relevant, but i am impressed with the job Edelbrock does on powder coating stuff, IMO

I shift at 6500..we were logging runs till 7000 when we were tuning it, and past 6500 was the area that it was starting to drop power. It's got a string mid range, but I want the top-end to breathe more, and I figure the Victor Jr. is a good way to get there, and that Elbow clears the stock Hood and Cowl without a problem..

You have to modify the flange the bottom bolt holes are for edelbrock specific tb, I had a good welder drill and fill in the lower holes and i redrilled them in the proper location and installed time serts to make them stronger. also the top of the flange has to be cut off and the center brace on the stock lt1 style hood must be cut out for clearance. ohh and the iac sensor's flange must be flipped so the sensor's connector faces downward.

I cant tell you anything on it gaining anything over an l76 yet as i tore the heads off to put lifters in it. car made 470rwhp on l76 with valves floating at 6200rpm, I put better springs in it and the car would pull past 6200, trapping 127mph, Im hoping for 13*'s with this setup

You generally lose a little low end but nothing that will hurt in the range of 50hp down there. A tighter LSA generally will bring it back and also free up reversion up top.

user dlove went from l76 intake to GM EFI/Carb intake and ran the same time in 1/4 with the l76 setup! So he went back to the l76 setup!

He had this

Went back to this

I was all about this setup but not anymore!

I am glad to see that someone tested this. I was also going to change out my L76 for this style, but now I don't really know.

Dan is right, I actually slowed down with the GMPP. Probably a cam issue. I even spun it 7300+ and it still wasn't as fast.

I ported my L76 intake this time and it pulls much better up top. I plan on doing the FAST intake/tb setup once it comes out.

The L76 unported choked up the car pretty bad above 6400
