Default I am lost on an intake choice.

Building a NA 427 solid roller with a pretty healty size cam 250's 260's with around .720 lift and 1.8 rockers. I have everything pretty much figured out except the intake. It is being built as a 50/50 car but I have a feeling it will see a little more playing around on the street. I was thinking Fast 92 but keep hearing it will not support the rpms, then I hear that the Fast would be perfect for my setup?????? I have searched the carb styles and the sheetmetal intakes. I feel the sheetmetal would be too much for anykind of street use. The new Fiber tuned looks like what I need just in a long runner version as I think the short runner that is currently avail would hurt me more than anything. Just need some heading as too where I should be looking. And by the way I have heard both from various engine builders/tuners which is what confuses me even more. I am not looking for opinions but facts on what to expect from the various intakes. By opinions I mean don't say sheetmetal because it looks cool yet you never even seen one in person. Thanks for the help.

I'm building an L92 427 with a 25x/26x cam (not a solid roller) and TFS 235 heads. For intake, I'm going FAST 92. I'm not planning on going past 7,000 rpms.

I'm in the same boat, N/A 427, large solid roller, 12.5:1 cr, LS7 heads(ported), planning on spinning upwards of 8K. Really would like some input as to if a ported LS7 intake will handle it. I have seen some dyno graphs where the LS7 looks pretty good in the 7+ range but nothing in the 8k range. Not really wanting to go sheet metal but I guess I will if thats what will make the little motor work right.

Default here you go

http://photobucket.com/Performance-I...C-Manifold-LS7

Not an inexpensive way to go, but It makes the power!! better distribution than a front tbody mount sheetmetal and has a descent length runner too.

That's for an LS7 style head. I am utilizing the cathedral style TFS 6 bolt 245's.

Do you feel that a 105 tb would kill the low end on the street? Thanks for the help guys.

I just learned of this intake. Asked Cary a few questions about it today. Seems pretty damn good and should make the power of a sheet metal according to Cary. No dyno tests have been done yet though.
Nice price......................

I;m no expert on 105mm TB's, but every time a newer larger TB has come out people buy them and make more power. I'm building a big cube engine too. I too also want a monster street car. SD tune and either a sheet metal intake or maybe this new one, with an elbow.

I'm researching things. There's always a weak link in the top ends, I want to have no weak link. I want to the top end to give the cubes what they need.

Default intake

No, Actually we have a lot of dyno data, even have some from GM racing. They saw almost 60 hp loss going back to a gmpp manifold od a 740hp combo.

We have also seen better average numbers than a sheetmetal with a single 4 and single tb. peak numbers were close, but the average hp was up quite a bit as well as the torque curve being much broader.

Cary, interesting manifold, similar to my high rise on my carbed 383. I have a modified LS7 hyd roller, 11.25:1 CR, 44.5 # injectors, 90 mm TB. How would your manifold affect my performance? I tried your e-mail but couldn't get thru.
Thanks Dave

Oh damn, I thought you said you had no data yet in the PM, sorry about that.

Do you think the swooped down elbow will hurt power some?

nitrous outlets new fiber tuned intake is a very nice piece and has different length runner options. i have a beck sheetmetal and its also a very nice piece, but the price of the fiber tuned makes it worht the money.

Been waiting on a timeline on the long runner version. As far as I know only the short version is out right now??

I have a 427, 25x/26x hyd roller, and the wilson billet bank with a 95 mm tb. It seems to have plenty of mid range torque and pulls extremely hard above 6000 to my shift point of 7500 or so. I should have some numbers after the holidays. I've just been driving it and dailing in the SD tune on it.

The Billet bank seems middle of the road in regards to runner length. They are over 2 inches longer than my Beck sheetmetal intake, but shorter than a FAST 92. After talking to Wilson, it seems to be good till around 7800-8200 rpm without much sacrifice in torque output through the midrange. It is just so damn pricey.

Yes, I have ruled that intake out due to price.
