Question Ls3 pcv??

We have an 08/Vette/LS3 crate engine, and cannot find the PCV location, and how it should be plumbed.
NE1 have a link to the info??

PVC?? Did you put a sink in the vette?? Just kidding...

PVC is the plastic pipes used in plumbing
PCV is positive crankcase ventilation.

I dont know the routing at all, but I know there is a tube that goes into your valley plate(front passenger side) thats used for PCV system.

I'm dyslexic...
We've had the intake off..there are no ports on the valley plate.
The LS3 is "supposed to" have a plastic device under the plate, that connects to the intake.[1 end goes to the rocker cover[s], and is referred to as "foul air" inlet. Other end goes to the intake tract. Looks to be in ft of the t/b]. But, it's not there, and I'm beginning to think the engine was assembled w/ the wrong plate..IE: LS2??
One of the vendors said he gets the GMPP crate engines with all kinds of mis-matched parts, such as oil pans, intake manifolds, etc....I doubt they'd stop at the valley plate.
I thot maybe someone else had seen this, and could direct me to a drwg, etc...

.

Hmmmm, then I would question where he is getting his LS3 Crate engines.

The LS3 is currently only in the Corvette and soon the G8 and the Camaro. They should all have the Corvette oil pan and intake. THere are no other intakes that should be on a true GMPP crate engine.
Can you send me some pictures?

I think the later GEN IV ie L92, LS3, LY6 do not have the valley cover port. My LY6 does not have one. The PCV was plumbed with the pass side cover tube to the intake tube. The driver side cover port was tied to the intake.

LS3 has one and the L92 does not.

My L92 does not.

Robin,

Can you tell us how to properly route the PCV system? There are ports on the valve covers and the intake.

Thanks,
Andrew

Can I take attach the passenger side valve cover to a fresh air source as you say in the link, and then route the nipple from the driver's side to the intake manifold?

That's how I plan on running my PCV. Instead of fresh air going in each valve cover and getting sucked into the intake from the valley, you just pull fresh from one cover and out of the other cover into the intake. This is how the new truck PCV systems are run.

Andrew,

So I understand correctly…
  1. You have the PCV valve in the rear of the drivers side valve cover?
  2. You have a hose nipple on the front of the passengers side valve cover?
  3. You have a hose nipple on your throttle body?
  4. You have a hose nipple on the intake manifold behind the throttle body?

I dont think any of the 4 bolt DBW throttle bodies have a port. I know my truck one does not and the LS2 TB doesnt look to have one either.

You're correct. I did not indicate that on the diagram, but you would have to use a port in the bellows connecting the air intake to the throttle body, after the MAF, similar to the LS2, 3, and 7. I'm doing the same thing now with my FAST 90/90mm intake install.

You will have to plumb the clean air port into the coupler before the throttle body. Here's an example:
