I am going to drive it for a few hundred miles before I put her on the rollers. Weather in Pittsburgh has been crappy. I will start driving it when spring arrives. The old 408 consumed a lot of oil. I made a post about it. Pistons were in backwards and 4 out of 5 main caps were on backwards as well. If it made the same power as the old 408 made, I would be happy for the simple fact that it doesn't burn oil any more. How much power was I losing from an oil contaminated charge??? I don't know. It has to be something though. I drove 20 miles to the track, made 3 passes and drove home and used 1/2 quart of oil. If I make 550/500 I will be very pleased... One thing that will hurt me is that I got rid of the true duals and went back to a catback. I am planning on putting dual DMH low profile cutouts in the Y-pipe in the future...

On the issues of your old motor, being that is was assembled with a few errors, were you able to recoup anything from the shop that built it ?? You can pm me the info if you like. No sense rehashing it on the thread if you already posted it before.

I'm running 28.5 wot and stockish in the cruise cells with my 11.8:1 LME 416 on pump 91/92. Just take time tuning it and it'll work out fine.

That's good to hear. I remember reading a few of the big names say that its better run max timing before KR rather then run more compression and have to retard the ignition timing to prevent KR.
Sounds like you know what you are doing. Did you tune the motor yourself ??
