I think the L76 car intake was only used on the L76 and L98 6.0 Holdens in Australia in 2006 & 2007.

The 2008+ G8-GT's although they had the L76 engine all got the LS3 intake which is the same in fit and function as the L76 intake. LS3 intake has minor changes to the MAP sensor and an added beauty/noise cover on top.

12590123 L76 Intake Assembly.
12590124 Bare L76 intake.

12610434 LS3 Intake Assembly.
12602477 Bare LS3 intake.

Assemblies = : Fully assembled with injectors, fuel rail, 90mm ETC
throttle body and gaskets

Wow, so now I'm definately not going to find one in a yard haha.

So is an LS3 intake set up for a Cathedral port style head?

I believe the LS3 is also the rectangular style port. If you need a cheap intake for the cathedral, stick with the LS6 or Fast.

And you cannot find the L76 Assembly anymore. They discontinued that last year. They were an awesome deal when they came out, $600 for rails/intake/42#/throttle body. You can still buy the bare intake for $200 and piece together your top-end.

L76 , L92 and LS3 have large rectangular ports...not cathedral.

I plan on going with L92 heads, and there have been quite a through L76 intakes to roll through the classifieds section. That should hold me over until the FAST 102 comes out..

Moral of that story is LS3 is a little better quality, but as for performance, they are about the same correct?

There is no difference in the quality or performance between the L76 and the LS3 manifolds.

As mentioned above just the cover and the map sensor style.

GMPP will have the LS3 assembly available sometime in the next month or so.

I'd like to get some opinions on which intake would be best for my road race 402 build w/cnc'd L92's..I'm looking at cams and intakes right now, trying to find out what will be best from about 4000 up. LS3/L76 or would the FAST 102 offer more benefit? Would it benefit the build to port the LS3 or L76 ? My brain is thinking the cheap L76 will be fine, but my mojo wants the FAST.

From what I have been researching, Porting an L76/LS3 is sorta pointless, or maybe it would be better to say it's pointless to spend money on porting. I feel like a ported 102mm would show anywhere from 15-25 rwhp gains over an LS3 intake.

BTW, for a road race engine wouldn't you want a setup that was better from a lower RPM range?

Maybe for autocrossing, but on the road course I generally don't let the rpm's drop below 3800-4K. It's a conversion car, too, (2900lbs) so I don't need gobs of torque. I'm looking for all the rpm I can muster. I would probably be looking at at an efi spider manifold if I had hood clearance.

if you get the right place to port them it isnt pointless, a 20 hp gain on the ls3 and like 30hp on the l76.
