Default Question for LS guru's

What are you guys using for lifters when switching to dual valve-springs? Are you guys able to use stock lifters with the increased pressure from a dual spring setup. Ferrea just finished developement on a dual spring setup for the late-model hemi setup and I was wondering if you guys think about using stock lifters with this setup. There are no aftermarket lifters available for us yet and was just looking for opinions.

The stock LS lifters can easily handle dual springs. I've been running Crane 144833 dual springs, 142 lbs. on the seat, for 5 years of daily driving with no adverse issues. I can't speak for Mopar lifters, but I would imagine you would have no issues.

LS7 lifters dumdumdum. Cheap and haven't seen one fail yet. I'm not sure how the hemi stuff works but the stock LS lifters have 2 flat sides that fit into lifter cups. There is a bridge between each set of lifters that the cups bolt on to. This keeps the lifters from spinning. I have heard that with cams with a small base circle, the stock lifter can potentially come out of the cup and spin on you which will wipe out the lobe and the lifter. Some companies like Jesel offer the lifters with a longer body in order to prevent this from happening. Geometry is very important. Hope this helps.
