L92 heads, Which Casting # is better?
L92 heads, Which Casting # is better? i have been looking at some L92 heads for sale, and i was wondering which casting # is better? The 823 casting, or the The 0821 casting? I have an opportunity to get my hands on some for a very reasonable price.
Also, not that i would personally do it, but would it be acceptable to run two different casting heads? Say, one 823 and one 0821?

Major geometry is identical between the two castings. There's only some minor differences in the port cores. Net flows are within a margin of error. We typically see each of the as cast heads go 325-330cfm on the intake side and 200-205cfm on the exhaust side.

The finish in the ports of the 823's was superior in addition the exhaust ports themselves in the 823's were considerably larger.

The Heads I have on my Engine are the 2 different cast numbers..that's just how I got them and I've been running them ever since. One of them is smoother than the other on the outside, but the Ports and Chambers were identical.
