To mill or not to mill

i'd leave the heads alone. if you want more compression, i'd personally just run thinner head gaskets. milling the heads is permanent and that would bother me, especially if it didn't work out like you wanted.

hey i was told if you take more then .010" off your head you need to have the intake milled also. is this true?
so like gm designs heads/intake around a .051 head gaskets. so if i go to a .040 head gasket do i need to mill intake?
if so this will get gay real quick

changing the head gasket to a .040 will not cause you to need to mill the intake. by changing it by .011, you're only shrinking your stock gap between the intake/heads by about .007 on each side, which is only about 2 sheets of normal copy paper. the intake o-ring gaskets will more than compensate for that minimal change.
