Default o2 extension question

So im installing my headers today and my O2 extensions have not arrived yet....

I want to go ahead and do the splice and I have a few questions.

What gauge wire do i need?

Should the wire be one solid line of copper or can it be the small wires twisted within the insulation to make the overal gauge thickness?

Part number 13111 bosch o2 withe the long pig tail will work. O2 extensions will get water in them and tend to act funny. The o2 are for the corvette 97-04

if you just want to splice into the harnesses, dont use the solid copper wire, that's going to be harder than hell to work with. if i remember right, the stockers are either 14 or 16 gauge. it's going to look ghetto-rigged, but it'll work. just make sure you get everything sealed somehow so you don't get moisture and junk in there.

Just thought I'd point out that we offer o2 extensions in various lengths for most GM applications (which are weather sealed and will not lead to water ingress):
O2 extender / coilpack extender - CONN-85707

Here is our section of extensions as well:
Connectors / Harnesses > Delphi / Packard > Extensions
