ok well i have made up my mind and im going to have a boost monster 451ci lsx block for my project car by one of the sponcers .
now im lost on the kind of oil pan to run .. as for clearance issues i need to have a regular ls1/ls1 oil pan .. anything bigger or differnt wont fit in the car and will hang too low on the subframe ..
so my question is will a stock ls1 fit the lsx block ?
what mods will have to be done to the ls1 oil pan to fit and have enought clearance on the oil pan ? what about the windage tray and pick up ?
im having my turbo kit fabbed in the next week or so and i need a pan for mock up to tap a oil feed and weld a turbo oil return line . so hopefully the ls1 pan will work being modified and clearance for the 451 lsx .
thanks !!!

On my 454, the stock pan would fit as far as bolt pattern is concerned, but i never actually bolted it up so i can't say it will clear your crank/rods. I bought a Canton oil pan and it didn't clear my rods in the front two cylinders.
Stock windage tray will need to have the holes drilled out a tad bigger if you're using ARP studs like i did, THEN you have to beat the **** out of it and/or shim it with washers to clear the crank/rods.
Stock oil pickup will need a little tweaking, nothing major.
I ended up running a Moroso pan. It comes with it's own windage tray and oil pickup. All i had to do was ream the holes in the tray a bit and if i recall use 2 washers to shim it down. Everything else was perfect and dead on. The stock windage tray needed like 7 washers to clear, at which point you couldn't hardly get a nut on the stud. After i "massaged" it with a hammer, it still took 4 and then looked like ***.
Also, with the Moroso pan, you must run a remote oil filter.

It WILL fit you just have to shim down the Windage tray. I'm running a 4 " stroke in my 402 and a 4.125 stroke in my 454 n NO problems with the stock pans
I'm running a Tube K member and had the sump in the front of the pan extended for an additional quart of oil. Works great with the Melling 20296 Hi Vol.
I even had the pan enlongated on the 402 and cut and rewelded the stock K member in the front. A little extra oil capacity especially with the Melling is a good thing !

i can't verify the dimensions of the Moroso pan, i don't have it here to measure nor do i have a stock one to compare it to. it's close to the same if not a little bigger though i would imagine.
