Default 650 Hp headers- What size pipe?

What size engine pipes and twin exhaust would you need for a motor that puts out 650Hp N/A at the crankshaft? Cheers Russ

I am buying the Trickflow 225cc CNC ported 65cc comb. chamber heads. These heads flow 259cfm on the exhaust at .600 lift. I have found a graph on the net under David Vizards exhaust article and according to this graph it is something like 2 1/8" primary. Then because I am running 8 psi boost the pipes could even go bigger. My ls2 is still 364 cubes. Does anyone have any other thoughts on this? Cheers Russ

for your combo 1 7/8 with 3in collecters sounds real good imo.

Tals7, thank you for your help. What about with the FI - could I go to 2" primaries to let the flow out? Cheers Russ

You could, but I think 1 7/8 will be plenty.

Go 2" and be done with it. i've got 2" Kooks on my 454 and it's NA. a boosted 364 will move the same or more air than my 454, the more pipe you have, the better. i would AT LEAST go 1 7/8" stepped to 2" witha 3.5" collector, but that's just me. the car would still run fine with 1 7/8" x 3", but i'd go bigger.

you could use 2in headers but might lose a little down low with small cubes.when we dyno tested my motor we tryed stock ls7,1/34,1/78,2in headers mine just liked the 2in ones.i will tell you there was not a huge diff between them all.i made 653hp on the stock ls7 quads.
