4L60e with Gen IV 5.3 Question
Do I need a 2007 or newer 4L60E in order to work with a 2007 5.3?(LC9)
I think some 4L60's use an external module and some just use the ECM?
Also, Don't want to go thru connector hell if they are not all the same.

The newer stuff has a TCM for the trans and a ECM for the motor. Vs the Gen III PCM which did both. Any 4l60/65/70 should work as long as you have the 07 up TCM as well.

Now that I have a 4L65E I need a VSS. The trans is 4wd and the transfer case is an older NP208. Does anyone know how many pulses the reluctor would need to be for the 2007 LC9 PCM? I think 40 but would like to know for sure.
Also, Any suggestions for the cheapest solution to get a signal? Some of the kits that replace the transfer case adapter are pretty expensive.

vss signal
I just finished the last of the electronics on my 95 Tahoe. I have a 5.3 LMG with the E38 ECM / TCM module that is plugged directly into my 95 4L60e ( 13 pin connection ) The VSS signal 40 pulse per revolution is the same on the 2007 going back to 93 on a truck.
Hope that helps, k.

Thats a good suggestion! Most are driver side drop for sure but there may be an application out there. Is the 241 as strong as the 208?

The good think about the NP241 is you can get a slip yoke eliminator kit. This will help lengthen the rear drive shaft good for short wheel base rigs. Plus the lower low gear is better vs NP208 and its little stronger.

Help me if you can...
I have a 94 C1500 that I am swapping a Gen IV engine into. It has the E38 ECM. My question is, can I run an '01 4l60e with this engine, and how would I wire it up to function correctly?
