![Question](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/icons/icon5.gif)
I have been reading that many are using the L76 and L92 intakes, but I was told that they are too tall. How are you guys getting them to fit? What is the benefit of the L76 or LS3 over the LS3 intake?
Any pics of the L76 or L92 stuffed under the hood of a Trans Am/Camaro?
Sorry for such a basic question, but I can't find anything when searching; it seems to pull up everything but what I need, lol.

L76 is a car intake and is the exact same as an LS3 both fit as they are designed to go on a "car". The L92 is the truck intake designed for a "truck" so it will NOT fit under the cowl of an Fbody and most other cars. If someone has shoe horned one in that I havent heard about, By all means show us a picture or a link to it.

So what does the L76 intakes come on if I can not find a LS3? Also will a LS7 intake work on the L92 and like heads?
Thanks again for your patients in such basic questions guys!

OK I finally found a pic that shows the difference between the LS7 and L92 intake ports, now I see that the LS7 will not work.
As for the L76, it seems that it is basically an engine from the land of the Roos; I guess L76 intakes are hard to come by here.

L76 was RPO code for a 350 back in the day (76-77). But to the ebayers defense (i hate saying that) the L76 was also a GM optioned engine in the trucks as well that uses the L92 truck intake. I believe now they are all the LY6, but they are still an option as of 09 models. They had some of the worst of the worst. VVT, AFM (DOD), and flex fuel.
So when looking for an L76, take caution to get real pics of it or specify car or truck intake

The (new)L76 intake and the LS3 intake are the same, except for the MAP sensor. On the L76 intake, it clips in. On the LS3 intake it bolts on.
Both intakes are made of plastic, both fit the L92/LS3 head. Both take a 90mm throttle body.
Most of the L76s in G8s actually have an LS3 intake on them. Mine does. It's not an 888 but it is an early '08.

So they are the same.....except they are different. Yah. And its not plastic. And they can both handle a 92mm TB as well.
But what makes you think that your G8 has an LS3 intake on it?

What makes me think that my G8 has an LS3 intake on it is the fact that they are identical, from what I've read, except for the MAP senor. This has been confirmed by several vendors.
The L76 intake is also discontinued, the LS3 part number superceeds it.
What leads you to believe they are not LS3 intakes?

What does it matter if they are both the same? LS3 sound's fancier?
I don't know if the guy is still selling them, but I got a really fresh looking LS3 intake with injectors and fuel rails for $400 on eBay (name: fparts). He said it was a 08-09 Vette intake only had 80 miles on it. IDK why that would be, but it looked new (no sludge in the intake, not dirty at all)... it just had some gas in the fuel rails still. Perhaps some shop was swapping Fast intakes on new cars... though this was before the 102 came out.

I've seen a bunch of newish LS3 intakes for sale with all the trimmings. They normally come from new Maggie owners...
