I don't track the car. It's just a street toy for bashing mountain roads out here. I do go down to MIR every now and then to lend moral support to certain friends though. The 427 should happen in January.

kevin, how much more power do you expect from the big bore alone?

our current goal is to break 550rwhp while driving pretty much like stock. The current cam that's in there will be swallowed up by all the cubes and pretty much idle like stock.Maybe down the road i can talk him into something a little bit bigger-but i doubt it

It sounds like a nice build. What heads are you going to use?

so your thinking 30hp to the rear wheels with a bigger bore and a better hone job? seems like a lot for just the bigger bore, but i hope you get it.

I'm going to leave the WCCH L92's on there. Richard PM'd me that he's got a couple of tricks for the heads on the larger bore so we'll send them out to him and let him do his magic.

We're making the current numbers on a very tired motor. Leakdown was 25% on a few cylinders. Shawn's masterful machine work and assembly, extra bore unshrouding the valves, Richard's mods to the heads and Ed's tuning - I think 30RWHP should be very doable. Even with the tiny BRE JT cam. We'll see and post the honest results here.

yea with some more work to the heads it's feasible i'm sure but bore alone i'm not. i'm glad you cleared up what would be done

with the head work i actually look for more than 30.We have picked up 15hp just changing to our diamond hone over the old vitrified hone. The bores are much rounder and and straighter and the amount of tearout caused by the hone is reduced greatly. All of this helps with rings seal.
As for the larger bore-the 4.00 bore greatly shrouds the l92 valves. We have picked up 20rwhp going from a 6.0 to 6.2 block with all other things being equal.Going to a 4.125 bore should help this even more.
The last but not least thing to consider is the sleeves. They are much thicker and stronger than the factory sleeves-they will keep a much rounder bore when cylinder pressure is introduced, making for better ring seal and increased power.
