Default Cost to sleeve and LS2 block.

Just thinking out loud here. What's the cost to sleeve and LS2 block to run a 4.125 bore?

Here is one place on line to give you an idea.

Default Sleeve block

If you want a bullet proof big bore block, give Steve a call at ERL Performance. They are not cheap, but you will get a killer block, ready to take on all the hp you can throw at it. Their web site is at erlinc.net, then spool down to ERL Performance. Very impressive re-engineering of the strength of an LSx aluminum block.

Just curious to know what a "dry sleeve" is and the process in which to get it done. Does this process make an aluminum block "stronger" than it was in stock form? Didn't mean to jack your thread WKMCD, but I am considering doing such a thing to my new LS6 block.

ERL actually machines out the sleeves and small supports, than welds in heavy supports between the intake side and the exhaust side of the block, then machines the block to take their stronger liners. The heat treats the block, decks it and line bore. Check their web site. Good people. You know what they say. "You dont always get what you pay for, but you always pay for what you get"

This is "just" a street toy. I'm sure it will be fine with Shawn paying the same attention to detail that he does all his builds including Phil Thomas's 2500hp LSX Mustang. Thanks for your precious advice anyways.

sleeves are $1000.00 and it take a good bit of machine work to cut out the old sleeves and machine for the new ones-forget the cost of the $250,000.00 machine to do it.
