I'm new to LS engines and am building up an LS2 engine for my track car. Looking at the shape of the exhaust port in the cylinder head and the shape of most of the aftermarket headers they dont match. The heads have an oval shape, and the headers have a round shape. Is there any advantage to porting the cylinder heads to match the headers, or are the headers just made that way because round tube headers are lower cost to build and the clyinder heads have the best shape?
Any help?
