Default Cam Suggestions?

I am looking to upgrade my cam

Goals are to have a fast as ****(low 12s) street car(DAILY DRIVER) on STREET TIRES.

So far I have

99 Trans Am WS6 (6-speed)
LS6 Heads
LS6 Intake
Pacesetter LTs
SLP Lid
Borla Exhaust
Sub Frame Connectors
Torque Arm
Rear lower control arm
STOCK REAR END

Options I have been presented with so far are...

228/232 .600/.600 112+5
230/230 .600/.600 112+4
231/231 .617/.617 111+2
232/232 .624/.600 111+2

Any comments, thoughts or other opinions would be great!! I want to know what will work with my current setup, I dont have the money to get a new rear end and will NEVER be running slicks(DRs). At least not ANYTIME SOON!

I'd do this one 228/232 .600/.600 112+5 and you should still have great street manners and killer torque in mid range. Or on a 114 or 115 LSA to keep a decent idle......

And what are the power/driveability dif's amongst those 4 cams?

TR224/112 ran consistent 12.1 on my six speed car with 3.73 gears and was excellent dd driveability. Proven cam so I'd stick to that range I wouldnt want to get much higher in duration and if you do then widen the lobe sep a bit

Low 12's on regular street tires is going to be hard. DR's or Nittos and maybe but getting your 6 spd to hook from a dig without good tires is going to be impossible and keep in mind... Once it starts to bite be prepared to say bye bye to your 10 bolt

So by getting a bigger cam I'm almost guaraneteed to blow out by 10 bolt or what? that's why iwas planning on only using street tires.

If your planning on putting sticky tires you'll grenade a stock ten bolt easily with a stock engine. Theres far more than enough power to break a 10 bolt with a stock LS1. Heck I've broken ten bolts with stock TPI 5.0L third gens.

Doesnt mean the first pass and its over, some guys have a bit of luck but not many. Just something to keep in mind is all.

Making more power and then deliberately putting crappy tires on that will spin and not put the power down wont make you go any faster it will just mean you spin your tires longer and further LOL.

No traction = no acceleration whether you have 1 hp or 1000 hp.

Once your out of the hole however you will LOVE a cam'd up LS1 man they pull like raped apes up top But dont be too hopeful about 12's on a regular street tire its possible but very hard to perfect launch etc.

I dont plan on putting DR's i'm more into the street than the track. Right now I have an LS6 cam, will putting a 228/232 make me slower because i'll spin because I don't spin with an LS6 if I pull away like an old lady that is lol

With practice you can cut better 60's with a bigger cam and even if you don't you will more than make it up with higher trap speeds. I am a stalled A4 car but have cut some low 1.8x 60ft. on 275 street tires which ends up at 12.3-12.4 on my car.......
