Default Fast lsxr 102mm intake

hello.. i been wanting to get a fast intake for a while...and a while ago i saw a pretty nice combo that texas speed sells...or used to which was a 92mm fast with the 92mm throtlebody ported, now i went to get it..and they are only selling the 102mm lsxr which i haven't heard much of, does any of you guy know if i'll be better off with the lsxr rather than with the 92mm and with the 102mm will i have any clearance problems

Mine touched also with the Nick Williams 102 mm thottle body. I had to grind the waterpump quite a bit for clearance.

all i did was file the lower edge of the NW 102mm to clear my Meziere EWP. i've got a mamo-ported 102mm on my 454.

The 102mm is the new replacement for the 92mm. you'll want to get it tuned to truly optimize your setup, but shouldn't see any losses anywhere. If you're uncomfortable with a 102mm TB, a 90 or 92 will still bolt up the LSX-R is a MUCH better designed piece than the 92mm. The only thing that really sucks is that you have to run LS2-style fuel rails or the FAST fuel rails made specifically for this manifold...i found that out the hard way

LOL.... I hear you about the fuel rails. I just order the billet fast fuel rail kit. My Aeromotive ls1 style ones didn`t fit.

yeah my Nasty rails didn't either...i was so pissed off. it's all good now though. i never read anything about that on here until after i had the intake. i KNOW i read most of the LSX-R related threads before i ordered mine and never once saw anything about fuel rails. Then, after i got the manifold and found out my rails wouldn't work, i went back and saw a fuel rail post in every stinkin thread i'd already read

finally UPS dropped off the Fast manifold and a PTM 102mm today....it looks bigger than i thought it was, i think they really did a great job on the design of this manifold compare to the previous 92mm version.

damn what do you guys have that needs a 102tb??? lol i talked with ron today about this intake for my H/C (stage II 243's and a TR227/224 cam) and he said a 92tb is what should be gone with, it doesn't matter what size the TB opening is because the runners are what deliver it into the heads not the TB

put the biggest tb on the engine you can. the plenum is the empty space in the intake that the runners get the air from. on a carbed motor, the plenum is a lot smaller and can easily be effected by carb size. efi >carb. the tb is simply the vessel with which to fill the plenum on an efi car.

I read somewhere that you shouldn't put the 102/102 on a stock ls1 motor. I was thinking of doing it with a much needed tune to follow. Would that be good or just pick up a ls6 intake? Motor will eventually be modded, picking up new 9" moser tomorrow :-D

Default Fuel Rails

After spending that chunk a change for the FAST 102/102 combo , I fabricated some brackets to mount my nasty rails. They work fine.

Does the FAST tilt the throttle body upward like the stock LS2?

Thanks

I have a 440 cu Stroker and I didn`t want any intake restrictions. On a stock cube car I would go with smaller tb.
