Default weird little issue..

ok swapped my plugs over for colder ones due to the n20 install(not done yet with the install)
put in 3177's BR6ef's with my msd wires that are about 500 old..plugs gapped at .035

now ever since car has a slight surge on coastdown and some other times... any ideas really? logs look pretty normal, but couldnt get it to act up when logging but did it a few times last night..
slighty rougher idle but barly(expected this)

never did this before the plug swap

I'm thinking the plugs may not be the cause, although they look odd with black outside and normal looking tips. Do you have any other work-in-progress going on involving the intake manifold?

the nozzle is plumbed to the CAI but is sealed and not leaking... was doing this surge before i plumbed it also...

yea my stock plugs have that black around the base but the electrode is nice clean brown..

I think the black base is indicative of some problem, perhaps a rich condition or possibly an ignition problem. The heat range is not really cold enough to cause plug temperature fouling unless it is idling for long periods of time.

Just do what I said to do. The colder plugs may require slight tweaking of your tune and close the gap up to .030.

That is certainly consistent with the nice brown tips. But I still do not understand the blackened base, that from you say is found on both the stock and colder plugs. Whatever causes that blackened base is not normal, although it may, or may not, have anything to do with the surging problem at hand.

Did you replace the stock wires with MSD wires? If so, please put the stock wires back. I can't tell you how many times MSD wires have caused issues with misfires.
