I'm guessing when you get to the point where cylinder heads are $2000 each, and a shortblock is another $5500 or so, $3900 for an intake that could make another 20-40hp (wild guess) is worth it.

For the record, I hope to get to the point one day where I think $3900 for an intake is worth it.

If it picks up 40 HP - which I would think is very doable - that's $100 per HP. Not that bad at this build level.

If I were going to spend 3900.00 for an intake it damn sure better have a pulley on the front of it.

Default **** update!!

Since Shawn already let the cat out of the bag, I thought I would share a couple of shots of the intake on the car. These are from the test fit to determine mounting points of bungs etc. It looks awesome and the hood even shut....imagine that!! Shawn is currently O-ringing the flanges and then it's off for final finish. I am still waiting on the 102mm throttle body so I can finish mocking up the cold air intake air bridge. For those that do not know the car, I posted some pics of it from LS Fest where it ran 10.87 @130mph on street tires with the stock intake. Enjoy!!

sweet jesus....

Hey Shawn...we might want to re-discuss my intake needs for my project!! What kind of gains over the 102 for a 'street' application? 20? 30?

You won't find a nicer car than Jeff's 67-1 of the most beautifuls cars i've ever seen-the one thing that makes me mad is that i can't find any flaws, and trust me i have tried

I wonder if we could break the 600 mark on my car with one of these...

I need a winter project.

Jeff,

Nice car!!! Did you do the build? If so do you have some pics of the build. I see you have C4 rear suspension with c5/c6 front all done in tubular. I have a 69 Camaro pro-touring I'll be doing with C5 front and rear suspension and been thinking of doing it all in 1 5/8 tubing. Again, that's really nice Vette !!!

Dave,
Yes.....I did the entire build. It is in fact C5/C4 Dana 44 built on a tube chassis. I do have tons of pics from the build.....is there something in particular you are interested in??

The chassis is from SRIII Motorsports based in New Lenox, Ill. Mike Stockdale is the owner and is a tremendous frame fabricator. I am getting ready to start a 1965 Corvette coupe project and I will no doubt use his chassis again....awesome product!!
