Default L92/L76 408 Questions

As many people run this combo, I cannot find anything useful to help me out in the search. I am in the process of building a 408 for the TA in my sig. I want to run a L92/L76 combo up top. What all is needed to make that combo work in my car and is there anything I should know so I dont overlook anything.

Someone chime in on this.....Would a stock set of L92 heads/stock L76 intake work well on a 408?

I am currently running a 408 with L92/76 heads and a ls3 intake in my 2002 WS6. I do not use the stock fuel rails. I am running the Black Lable fuel rails and siemens 80# injectors. The TB I am running is the Fast 92mm. It will bolt straight onto the manifold. But with the LS3 manifold it does not have provisions to mount the throttle cable linkage. You can get with Scoggin Dickey and get their adaptor for this. There is a hole in the back of the Fast 92mm tb that you can tap and mount the adaptor bracket to. That is what I did. I can not remmeber for sure, but I think the manifold bolts are a different length. I went with ARP manifold bolts just to have ARP manifold bolts so I could be wrong on this. Other then the fuel rails and the stock ls1 TB not fitting along with the throttle cable needing an adaptor, as best as I can remember everything else should work.

Then you need the turbo and piping I am using

Good luck and let us know how it goes.

Also somethings I left out.

I am sure you know this but just incase not:

You need to make sure your pistons have the valve reliefs that will work with the L92 heads. The intake valve is offset some. And also because of this you have to run the correct intake rocker arms. The LS1 exhaust rockers will work but not the intake rockers. All else should be the same.

Either way, I found a good deal on the heads and intake so I went ahead and ordered them. Now I just gotta gather up the rotating assembly for the shortblock.
