Dollar per horsepower its worth it and its why this piece of plastic is a best seller and is highly sought after. Not everyone is going to put nitrous on the car so finding RWHP gets tricky if your staying N/A

Especially if your running aggressive max effort setups like those with the big name big cams, ported heads...etc.

Ported intakes choke donkey crank compared to these things. Yeah I'm sad that it costs a fortune too but that doesnt mean it doesnt work EVERY time on EVERYTHING. From a stock LS1 up to a wild LS3 these things give gains every single time someone puts one on over a stock intake. Crazy that there are still disbelievers left after all these years.

I have to disagree. I have a H/C LS1 and paid 1300$ shipped for a fast 90/90 and picked up NOTHING!!! a complete wast of money. I made more power and went faster MPH with a Ported LS6 intake. like i said originally dont waste your money, put it elsewhere. jsut my .02cents though.

sorry it didn't work out for you, YOUR THE ONLY ONE!

anyway, on an LS2 (as this is the application in the thread) the FAST 102 works EVERYTIME!

Yes, a FAST 102 over the factory LS2 intake will be a great improvement, there are quite a few threads floating around from bolt-ons to the 40rwhp gain that Vengeance got on a H/C LS2. Since when are good mods cheap? Hell AFR's/TFS's run $2400, if you're cheap this is not the hobby for you.

FAST 102's on LS3's are where the gains are weak. The LS2 intake is the runt of the family-

I just snagged my 3rd C6 and it only has a CAI and axleback and I will be adding the FAST 102/catch can next as well. Then the LT's, cam and AFR/TFS's to follow-

https://ls1tech.com/forums/generatio...pointment.html.

there's one.... and many more on this fourm. LS1 thread or not Neumonic2002 lS1, LS2 or LS3 waste of money buying the intake. buy a fogger and be done with it. but there again if you have 1500$ to through around for 20 hp that you will only see a difference one the dyno go ahead. I agree there are LS based cars with gains but 20hp.... like i said i bought one,....junk in my opinion. 1500$=20hp or a example " texas-speed MS4" 385$=40-60hp gain. you do the math.

Bad comparison. You can't compare a manifold to a cam. FWIW, you can pick up a new FAST for under $900. And a cam swap is no where near $385. Factor in valve springs, pushrods, oil pump and timing chain. And how come, one of the most sought after mods, a Maggie, is well over the $6000 range, yields around 90 WHP on a stock long block. While according to your mathmatics is no........well you know where I'm going here.
Just sayin'

I understand a FAST isn't the best "bang for buck" mod, but thats why its one of the last mods that are done. And just a thought, I am willing to put money down the a H/C/I LSx will last longer AND be more reliable than a H/C spray LSx.

good to see you back up your results with others having the same poor performance on an LS1, I can understand why you would be against the mod.
I am not going to run NOS so that is not worth comparing, with me anyway.

Again, for an LS2 your way off on cost and performance though. I paid $822 delivered to my door with new gaskets, installed myself....sold my ported LS2 intake for $300 and paid my tuner $50.

If I already had the cam I am looking at my gains would have been even larger, probably another 10/10.

Maybe your issue was with your tune?

I got 25/20 more on mine from H/C motor on stock LS2 intake to Vengeance Fast 102. I was hoping for more, but it sounds like I should be happy.

I thought at least 10 rhp over my old Ported LS3 intake with 90TB. Not...got about 6hp peak. YET the midrange was better on the 102/102. Not a great bang for buck but nice eye candy.

Again, this thread was about the difference between a stock LS2 intake, and a FAST102. The stock LS3 flows like a wind tunnel, and a ported LS3 even more. You are not going to pick up much over a ported LS3 - I wouldn't have even made the switch. That has been hashed out over and over on this site. You will pick up a significant amount over s stock or ported LS2 intake though.
