I do not have any experience with Professional Products. With that aside, The FAST does seem to be more popular. Gains with the FAST have been dyno proven to come out on top of the Typhoon. Theres a comparison over at LS1GTO.com. I don't know if it is 50 state legal. I would check PP's website to find out.
With your mods, or lack of, I would say save the intake for later on. Get a lid, a nice set of LT's, and if money still permits, a catback. You will be MORE than satisfied with that, and for sure more pleased than the intake.

LT's will indefintitly "wake the motor up". And FYI, stock coils and wires are good for more than 500 even 600 hp. The throttle body should be swapped when the intake is swapped. Pulleys should wait until its time for a cam.(gains for a UDP, with a stock h/c setup, will be south of 5hp) And I would say don't waste your money with the comp programmer. I would save up and buy HPTuners, or find someone (who know what they're doing with LSx motors) who has HPTuners, and pay them to do it.
Just throwin' my 2 cents at you. This is just my opinion. Take it as you wish.
