Default L92 swap into an fbody, startor ??

I have a 98 ls1/a4 and I'm going to be doing a 6.2 l92/m6 swap, I have the startor out of the l92 which came out of a 08 caddy escalade.

Wondering if I need to use the startor out of my ls1 or will the one out the l92 work? I tried the l92 on the ls1 and vise versa and they bolt up. The one out the l92 is a little different design, had a bigger opening for theeth.
Was considering selling it and the alternator out the caddy, but thinking about holding on to the startor. The alt from the 6.2 is a 2 bolt design and is alot bigger then the fbody which has 3 bolts.

I would use the L92 starter, but either would probably work.

Do you have any pictures or dimensions comparing the alternators sizes?

Match the starter to the fly wheel that you are going to use.

I am doing the exact same thing to my RX7. The L92 starter bolted right up and as far as I know they both have the same teeth count. Is there a reason why the L92 starter won't work with the T56 and the LS7 flywheel?

Idk, I don't see an issue, if the a4 and m6 starter are the same then I think this starter will work. I think it might just be stronger than the fbody starter, looks alot more sturdy. But I'll be testing it out on a stock t56 flywheel and clutch, then switch to an ls2 flywheel with ls7 clutch. I emailed pics of the two starters to "the bandit" hasn't posted them yet. Anyone want to post them for me? I can email you pics, I'm using my phone or else I'd do it.

I used a m12 t56 out of a 2004 GTO so I used a starter out of a 2004 GTO.
