LY6 Harness questions

I picked up an LY6 w/o a harness.

I want to bolt it up for a 4l80e and use a Hughes controller instead of the stock harness.

Can I just eliminate those parts of the stock harness that control the tranny, or should I have someone do a custom harness?

you could do that if you wanted but i cant see any advantage over running a stock 338 with tune to control it all in one package. less messin and fussin.

Are you retaining injection?VVT?
