Default 6.0 stroker L92 heads

If i build a 408 stroker out of a 6.0 and run L92 heads do i need special pistons? I thought i read some place on here that someone had a pair of LS6 heads and was going to switch to L92's people were telling him that he was going to need to cut pistons or something so he did not have P/V issues

well the valves are bigger but they lower the compression ratio (5364 head castings are 72ccs) so i highly doubt u need to flycut pistons. my friend built a 418 with flat top pistons -6cc valve reliefs and 5364 heads milled .030 with a .244/.248 .612 .615 112 lsa cam and no flycut needed

If you mill the heads too much or run too big of a cam you will run into clearance issues. Since you are building a stroker i would suggest purchasing pistons with some valve relief so you wont have to be so worried.

A lot of the stroker pistons out there today are already setup for the larger L92/LS3 valves. I ran 2cc pistons with 19 degrees of overlap and the heads milled .030 and had no trouble.
