Hi Guys,
I'm going for an 8 rib pulley setup for my Maggied LS2.
I've got an Innovators west kit, but after tales of broken timing chains etc with aftermarket dampers and plenty saying to go with an ATI damper, i'm thinking of changing over.
These stories may be mainly related to cheaper/lighter/UD pulleys but starts the paranoia going.
Has anyone seen any problems with cars running the IW damper?

I have Innovators West 10% overdrive damper with my TVS and have no problems at all. I've never heard of broken timing chains or anything like that. I'd install the kit; I'm positive you will not have any problems.

Mine is completely silent... Send it back to IW to be checked. They can be rebuilt, but I think the damper screws are loose on yours.

Its funny this thread showed up when I searched because my friends 418ci ls3 with the a&a t-trim kit and 8 rib IW setup mysteriously snapped the chain a few months ago, it was a jp racing double roller...
I am not saying the pulley is what cause it but it is definately a prime suspect in my book, and I am contemplating the switch to ati since they've been around for so long and if nascar uses them, then there's not much left to say lol
however so far IW seems to have great customer care as they told me they would waive the inspection fee on the pulley due to our situation..
so I will keep u updated if ur interested to know how it all turns out, and my engine builder is gonna be investigating the engine this week as well, so we'll see what happens
