L92 rough cast
L92 rough cast Is this what an L92 head would look like from GM on a brand new car or do they clean them up before assembling? I'm wondering if GM's hp and tq numbers are based on a rough cast head or if there's a light clean up or cnc done on stock heads. Anyone?
The combustion chambers looks the same. Should I lightly clean them up? It seems like if I don't then it will just give carbon a place to start building up. I don't have the money to have them done right, so I think I'll leave the intake runners alone.
Carbon will build up on polished chambers and runners too just as quickly. If you are going to clean up anything, do the exhaust runners. My understanding is the bumps in the intake runner surface helps with fuel atomization.
