yeah, LS3 has hollowstem intake valves and L92/L76/(maybe others) have solids. the hollowstem intakes are lighter than the factory exhaust valves... which i believe are all solid

LS3's come with a little stronger springs and lighter valves. Other than that they are indentical. Do yourself a favor and buy bare castings and put aftermarket Lite weight everything in them. Worth every penny...

i think i read that the ls3 bare castings are cheaper than the l92 bare castings from GM..... ill never figure out GM's parts pricing..... kind of like how you can get a valve cover with 3 coil packs on it for $120, but if you just want to buy one coil pack its like $85

If hunt around can get the whole LS3 head for 350-375 each online. With vales and springs. They cost dealers around 330 each.

Its my understanding that LS3- 821, 823 and 5364 Heads castings are all identical.
821's have lighter, better valves.
Early LS3- 2716 Heads don't have the bulge in the upper intake port to help swirl the air.

Actually.... the 2010 production camaro 0821 casting has a different intake port from the older L-92/L76 heads, 364/716
.
They will not come out right when you cnc port them with the older program. We, competition cnc, had to develop and make a new program for the new style intake port on the new ls-3 heads.

Some where along the way GM changed the port shape in one of there 4 or 5 part number swaps for the head in the last year.

Its only a matter of time before the other cnc head porters out there figure this out also.

So then is the intake actually different then too? Do they flow better, worse or just "different"?

They flow very similar stock but the flow seperation happens at a higher valve lift on un touched heads.
The intake manifolds are the same.

Great question! I have LY6 and my guess is the same L92.

Anyone?
