What is the largest exhaust valve duration most guys are using with LS3s/L92s unmilled. I have have done a lot of swaps but all in the 230s mostly (unmilled) I see early 230 intakes late 240s exhausts are common (like 248)in US swaps. A guy in Aus recently installed a 231-251 cam. I told him to check ptv both sides, he never did and ex side hit, but the cam was sold as a "LS3 grind". I have seen 248 on the exhaust commonly used, although mid 240s seams more comfortable. I am getting one ground for an engine and the guy lives 2000kms South from me, Its a new LS3 crate, victor junior carb, dbl valve springs /timing chain etc, Its going in a light car 2400 pound LJ Torana, wants 450-500 and to sound nasty. I have flycutting gear here, not an issue but doesn't want to mill or flycut just a simple swap.
Cheers

Just because the cam stated it was designed/optimized for LS3 style heads, why would you assume that it would work with stock pistons?
This is an engine, not a T-shirt. Get something that fits with enough clearence.

Hey guys looking at going the 230 xfi intake and 240 xer exhaust on 112+2. Using a victor junior and carb. I degreed a cam in last night in a L76 and it had 65 thou ptb clearance 239 lsl intake lobe on 113 ICL 53 deg IVC. I have run 233 intakes on 106 ICL and had around the same on the intake, never ran anything with stock heads and pistons in late 240s exhaust though! Would like to run around 248 on the exhaust side on 112+2 on the ls3.
cheers.
