SLP lid on 2002 WS6
The air hose on the driver's side of lid. I followed the hose down into the area
in front of wheel, but can't see were it goes. It allows air ro flow into engine unfiltered. Where is this air coming from? I would think crankcase PCV.
But from that part of car!
So I plug off lid, fine, but what to do with open hose end.
I have seen under hood photos here that show a hose with an air filter on end?

Yes that is the hose for the air pump, which pumps air into the exhaust manifolds at startup. The pump in down in the front driver's side fender. Mine has a small round filter on it before I deleted the AIR System entirely.

Go figure! So the pump is electric?
If the system is totally removed, does it effect anything, other then emissions/
What can be removed exactly?
Boy this takes me back to my Republic of Cal days in the 60's.
My the V8 Force be with you....There is no Replacement for Displacement!!
