Helicoil help I need to install a helicoil in my block where the rear M6 oil pan bolts go. Is this something I can do while leave the oil pan on or do I need to take it off again? Ive never helicoiled anything before so all help is appreciated.

if you're talking about the ones where the really long bolts go, you're going to have to pull the pan. you'd need a reallllllly long drill bit, tap, and install tool to reach the hole otherwise, none of which would be included in that length
Sometimes if the threads are just pulled alittle the helicoil will screw into the exsisting hole with out drilling and tapping it. If it is those long bolts, you might try screwing the helicoil to the bolt and running it up into the hole and see if it catches. Those bolts only have a small amount of torque applied to them. I think it's inch pounds. Or try some locktite and thread the bolts up into the hole they may tighten up. Short of doing that you may be pulling the pan.
