Default Looking for MAF info

I am looking for a 90mm MAF for the new engine I am building. I want to use a 90mm OEM MAF off of a GM car. I am unsure which GM production vehicles DID come with 90mm's on them. Can anybody help me figure out which vehicles these would be. I'm assuming that a factory MAF could be purchased cheaper than these aftermarket MAF's and work just as well. Part numbers would be awesome too!

Thanks

Hahaha, yeah, looks like you can't get rid of me lol I figured I'd take a break from hassling you and ask around for additional help. If you are still willing to get those measurements on your MAF though, I'd appreciate it.

Why not use the new cartridge style LS3 MAF? That way you can use a 4" intake tube.

I'm not familiar with it being called the cartridge style MAF, but is that the generic GM MAF sensor that they basically plug into different size housings? (Do you have a part number for that sensor?) If so, I was looking into this awhile back and started wondering if I was going to have to get a MAF housing machined since the sensor has an odd mounting flange. The sensor that I found was this:

http://paceperformance.com/i-6485322...-solstice.html

And the flange offered by Pace to make installation easier

http://paceperformance.com/i-6255452...91-sensor.html

It's neat that they offer this flange, however I would like to have an all aluminum or plastic MAF housing which means that I would not be able to weld that flange to aluminum. I have a 90mm throttle body with an O.D. of 4", so YES, I would like a MAF housing that has an O.D. of 4" as well. I'm trying to find a MAF that uses the GM sensor, is the proper size, and is offered for a good price. That's why I am inquiring about the factory OEM MAF's, although I suppose if many new cars are using this cartridge style, they don't really have a "housing" if you will.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

Question:

I am looking at this MAF bracket:

http://paceperformance.com/i-6255452...91-sensor.html

Has anyone used one of these? I've seen it in other threads and some people are saying it's made out of aluminum. Also, they say that the backside is contoured to fit up to the MAF tube (What's the diameter of the contour?). I am asking this because none of the pictures show the backside.

Thanks

SD certainly is an option, although I'm going to stick with a MAF for now anyway.

Anyone have any opinions about this sensor bung?

GM Performance Parts designed that bung. It fits pretty much any tube, 4" is optimal.

Tuning the new style MAF is not too hard, I know HP Tuners added the ability to tweak/calibrate the IAT portion. That was the only issue that used to pop up. It used to show about 20 degrees too hot.

Here is an alternative. It uses the Hitachi unit from GM> http://www.powrmax.com/PowrMAF%20100.html

I've got that bracket at my house right now. I'm still trying to decide if I'm going to even use a MAF right now though.

Awesome, thanks for the good info. I am using HP Tuners too, so that will be helpful. Funny, I was just looking at the powrmax yesterday for the first time too.

And a question for TurboAv...

Since you have the bung in your possession, can you tell me if it is made out of aluminum?
