Default how good is the ls7 intake

so Im thinking about doing a 418 ls3 project soon, and almost have my parts list together.....i was planning on running tsp small bore ls7 heads, a big cam, lts, and all the other bolt on goodies.....so im assuming i should be around 650 flywheel, maybe a hair more. Will the ls7 intake get the job done, or would i be better off going with a fast

The FAST will make more power for sure. On a build like this the FAST is a no brainer.

From a ported ls7 to a ported fast 102, my 454 gained 19hp and 23 tq. Sittin on top are WCCH stage 2 heads. Same day same dyno.
Yet with 418 ci the fast might not shine as well.

I would agree, plus it's a ton of money for the FAST.

I ran almost 145 mph with a ported GM LS7 intake and 90mm tb on my hydraulic cam A4 N/A 427. I think that the FAST will outperform the LS7 intake but too many people think that the LS7 intake will not perform well. The video proves that it will perform well given that the rest of the combination is working well together. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p4rBVdM7yjY

Its the whole combo.....not just the intake.....

There's a ton of C6 Vettes running around with 600+ RWHP........with head/intake porting/cam upgrade/exhaust upgrade/tune. But its everything working together that wakes up the whole engine.

yea i figured its not necessary, i figured even an unported ls7 should be fine for my combo, plus im trying to do this on a small-medium sized budget so the fast would probly be out of the question......an ls7 intake used runs about 300, and portingfor one ones like wat 150-200 bucks? so for another 200 bucks i could maybe find a used fast, you never no. however i think a 102 tb would be nice for a stroker

There's 515-530 RWHP 416ci's all around this area with nice idling cams.....and most use L92 heads and L76 intakes. An LS7 intake (ported or unported) with nice heads will be awesome on your 418ci.

Nice work! The LS7 intake is not a restriction for most setups & is capable of great power. Our 280cc heads/ custom HR w/ GM LS7 intake that had a little porting & was opened up for a larger TB: http://www.advancedinduction.com/Ima...tedIntDyno.JPG

I'm ambivalent about the LS7 FAST. It is nice to be able to disassemble & grind to our liking, but the OEM manifold is certainly capable of supporting big #'s.

I'd love to see evidence of the ton of 600+RWHP N/A C6's with an LS7 intake.

Come on down...........I'll show ya. Or just go to Tower Shoppes in Davie, Florida (Lauderdale) any Friday and race some of them, there are no less than 20 of them there every Friday night. Probably 500 cars total show up every Friday night. Its a city sponsored car gathering. Good luck with the races. There's a TON of 1,000 RWHP cars there every weekend too, so bring something fast.

The builder doing my 441ci is responsible for most of them.........

Nice to see that Towers is still going strong! So who's doing your build? I'm still looking for someone to do the assembly on my 450ci.

If there are so many then it shouldn't be a problem for you to get one on a dyno and show me 600+ on the stock style LS7 intake on motor with 93 Octane.

If you can't do that then just stfu because all you ever do in every single thread I see you post in is make wild claims, post no facts, and continue on spewing bs as if every head/cam stock bottom end C6Z in Florida makes 600whp.

I had a ported LS7 intake for years on my 441 and it would always show around 99-100% KPA at WOT. Worked great for my power levels!
