Katech or LPE Oil cooler adapter question
Thanks in advance.
Zeke
I had the Katech, then tried a Hamburger too.
The motor is out, so I am going to try and do something on the engine stand where I have more room and better light.
What has been tried.
I will let you know if I have any revelations.
Click on the pictures at the bottom of the page the in & out looks like they are in a promising location?

I am pretty sure it is too wide for thre bigger headers.
Early next week I am picking up an oil pan and will mock some stuff on the engine stand.

I still have Katech, that looks promising. Also what car is it?
This is my 1996 Camaro with the wet sump LS7 in
Oil lines are AN8
Motor mounts are OEM rubber mounts for 2002 Camaro
Using a BMR tubular K member for LS1 camaro.
Rampant, it says proflow after zooming in, the improved racing looks like it will be more compact than that for a 2"? except the lines can't be turned in towards the block like he did.
Thanks for the post.
I bought this one as I was having major oil temp issues, but likely will not now with the rebuild of my motor, but this should be added insurance.
I also had a remote filter, which may not be needed if I can get the Katech to work. I will need to find a spot for my oil temp sender as well now.
Here is the oil to water cooler I went with. I found a nice home for it in front of the harmonic balancer. It will aslo need a few extra coolant hose mods.
I can tell you the Mocal unit we sell definitely will not work for you guys. Here's a photo of our prototype next to the Mocal unit we sell, for comparison:

We are using o-rings integrated into the unit to eliminate the gasket, which gives it another 1/16" of clearance:

The production unit will be even slimmer in the trouble spots. We're still tweaking the CAD model. We are making this thing as slim as possible without sacrificing strength. We may also make a version without the front sensor port, so we can remove the material in that area that may be interfering with your headers. Looks like you guys may need it.
We are shooting to have these available mid-December.
I am also looking at getting a stock truck adaptor with lines and see if a local hydraulics outlet can put AN fittings on the end of the metal lines. The whole stock adaptor can be had as low a $46. It has nice bent metal lines to go under the motor mount. For me that might be the best set up.

I had wanted to go with a remote oil filter though so I could run a good low restriction racing filter. The LS1 motors have no love in that area yet. Most of the filters for the LSx motors have filter abilities which is great for a stock motor, but once you lean on them getting oil to the bearings is more important to keep the pressure up at high rpms. Something like a WIX racing filter would be nice.

As for the filter...what about the Canton racing offerings? Seems like they offer a fair amount of flow, but not sure how it would compare to what you have in mind...
For $60 it is worth a shot.
I also found an awesome part, but the price out this world too.
I tripped over a 12 AN banjo fitting. My Hamburger adptor has 12 AN ports as does my remote filter and cooler. Lots of flow.

The problem is it is $125 per fitting, plus you need to use the special Ultra flex hose that needs special fittings and crimping tool. Nice stuff, but I would be at a grand in hose and fittings.
I will post pics with the truck hoses tonight. It will take a day or two to see about the fittings to adapt to AN lines.
