Default LS2 Intake Help

I'm new to the LS game. I purchased an LS2 intake/rail/inj off of craigslist. Come to find out the Rail and Inj are LS1. The fuel rail is cut and has a rubber hose going to each side. I need bigger inj for my project.

My question is will any ls1 inj fit into my intake or are the inj holes different in the ls1 and ls2 intake?

or could I get an LS1 FAST rail and it work on my LS2 intake with ls1 injectors? I'm going to be running a standalone fbody harness so if I could stay with LS1 inj that would be great. I think

Sorry for the dumb questions!

Thanks,

Before you start, the LS2 intake is about the worst intake there is!!! Its a terrible intake manifold.

You can buy used LS2 fuel rails for $50-$100 used. LS1 and LS2 injectors have different O.D. lower orings, LS1 injectors are smaller and wont seal without the correct oring swap when used with an LS2 manifold.

As far as being sucky for power, you basically have two options;

Budget; LS6 intake, uses 75mm Throttle body. +10-15hp over LS2
Most power; FAST 102mm, can use 90/92/102mm throttle bodies, +20-30hp over LS2 intake.

Everyone selling there LS6 intake, is most likely selling to buy the FAST. I would skip the step. Heres a test LS2 vs. FAST;

Or you can port the LS2 manifold and it will perform just as good as the FAST.

Check out the article they did a few years back on an 06 GTO. This is the reason most of the GTO crowd is opting to go this route instead of the FAST route unless they have some serious mods.

Well with the price of the swap already a FAST is not in the budget. Its not out for future but for this spring/summer its out. So basically ditch the LS2 and get an LS6 is what i'm understanding. Looks like I can get my $$ back out of the LS2 setup i bought and spend another $100 and get an LS6.

Thanks guys

Absolutely untrue....I have NEVER seen this in any testing, Ive tested and known some other who have tested "ported" OEM intakes and they always lose power. Even if it did gain some power, it wouldnt be anywhere near a FAST.

The only way to save the LS2 intake is to take it apart and seal up all the leaks, thats why it sucks so bad. Even if you did that you would basically have a LS6 intake with a 90mm throttle body. But a simple port wont fix the leaks.

Interesting, the article linked above mentions the LS7 as being made the same way. I wonder if it leaks too? Sorry for the hijack...
