i think he is referring to the like 1.5 inch hole towards the rear of intake...if not, i am wondering if that gets enlarged.....on the l92 truck intake btw.....work looks excellent.....congrats.....

We will research that more to see if additional horsepower can be gained by enlarging the hole towards the rear inside the plenum.

Yes. We will be posting a separate thread soon with more details. Bottom line is that Cory Harris from LS2PortWorks had perfected a method for completely opening up that hole deep in the plenum and removing additional barriers that restricted air flow in the TBSS and L92 truck manifolds. Cory's customers typically saw 15 rwhp / 15 rwtq gains and some of the L92 customers with headers, a significant cam and ported heads reported as high as a 20 rwhp gain.

Many of you truck guys were saddened when Cory announced he was no longer porting the truck manifolds. We are happy to announce that for the past several months we have been working with Cory to learn his techniques for porting these manifolds in order to pick up where he left off. In order to perform the porting, the top of the manifold is removed and then reattached once the porting is complete. Here is a photo that shows how much the plenum is opened up after the porting is completed:

For TBSS and L92 customers wanting this radical porting, on their truck manifold, the cost is $425. We can port your throttle body at the same time for just $75 additional. You can place orders on our web site at:
http://www.peakspeedshop.com/.

In our new thread, we will also discuss the merits of 5.3L truck owners converting to the TBSS ported manifold and throttle body as a lower cost alternative if they don't want to pay for the power gains of a FAST manifold. We should have this thread up in the next 3-4 weeks. Watch for it!

Its difficult to tell from that pic , but appears to be opened nearly all the way. That must be a GEN IV intake , can you show us one of a GEN III truck with this mod. Thanks for the quick reply back , glad to see you are continuing to develop your product. Look forward to reading your new thread on the TBSS intake.

When you port the L92 throttle body how much do you enlarge it? It's off a 2009 Escalade and using an LS3 intake manfold.

Yes, you're correct. We've opened it up all the way and this is Gen IV. Unfortunately, this level of porting cannot be done on the Gen III truck. It is done on the Trailblazer SS or L92 manifolds. However, the thread that we will be doing soon will be for Gen III 5.3L owners showing the option of switching to this radically ported Trailblazer SS manifold.

The throttle body isn't enlarged from the standpoint of increasing the throttle plate diameter. All of the removal of material is in front of the throttle plate in order to create better air flow into the throttle body.

Looking forward to your new thread coverison Gen III using theTBSS intake. Will you need to have a X-link to make this work or do you have your own adaptor harness ? Also like to see more on the port work on the Gen III truck .

Most Gen III trucks are Drive by Cable and will not require the Drive by Wire X-link.

Here are photos of Basic Porting (before and after) on Gen III manifold.
