Rear mounted battery - 1 or 2 gauge?
What do you guys recommend? Used to run 00 cable with the 464ci pontiac in my 67 but stripped the car of all electrical wiring and starting over. Will be installing a new battery relocation kit in the trunk (have a master cutoff already) here shortly to get wiring all situated but wanted to know opinions on 1 vs 2 gauge kits with an LSx motor. I need to get good voltage to my fuse block for lights, fans, etc. along with starting (obviously) but don't need an overkill either.
What do you guys think?

Minimum is a 2 gauge. I've seen both 1 and 2 on LSX motors with no issues for many years.
I went 2 gauge on mine

I ended up grabbing that relocation kit with the 1ga welding wire. Will get a short length of cable to go from the battery to the master cutoff switch. From there, a line down to the fuel pump relays, and up to the front to a terminal block that will branch out to everything else up front.
Thanks guys,
Tony
