I just picked up a l92 from the salvage yard. I also picked a 4l60 to go with it. I also have the pcm for the l92. What I am trying to do is delete the vvt and turn it to a ls3. I also want to add a nice cam.. I just picked up a ls3 intake off ebay. It comes with the fuel rails and injectors no tb. What all parts will I need to make this work. I want to buy a aftermarket accessory drive so Will I need a new water pump? Which painless harnesss will I need? Any help will be appreciated.

Water pump will be different. Depends what it's going into on which pump you want to run.
I kept vvt on my L92 in a chevelle and it's awesome. The advantages of VVT have only started to be recognized in aftermarket applications, but Texas speed has a bunch of choices depending on what your goals are.
Otherwise, there's a few places that sell the front cover, timing set etc as a kit to remove vvt. Some also had DOD which mine didn't.

also any part numbers will help. If I can come out on top with keeping the vvt I will but If its easier to take it off I will go that route. Can I keep the vvt and use the ls3 intake and get a good camshaft? What would I need to go that route.

Keep the VVT and you can swap the LS3 on, depends on what accessories you want to run. For truck accessories you need to move the Idler pulley underneath the alternator (look up schwanke engines they offer a kit or you can do it yoursef) and the truck TB will work with the truck water pump, if you want to use a ls3 style TB you need LS3 water pump.

"I thought the waterpump was diferent because of the vvt and the thick timing cover.."
Also the LS3 throttle body will hit the water pump outlet when using the LS3 intake manifold. I went with the 2010 Camaro water pump. There are others you can use.

It depends on what you're putting it in. I've got a 2010 L99 and am in the process of fitting the corvette accessory drive on it. I can't use the low mount alternator since it's going in a '67 A body. For the corvette accessory drive you need a spacer under the mounting bracket to align the pulleys. I just bought the holley spacer and am working on getting it to fit right.

Im putting into a 87 caprice. I found harness that painless sells and looking over the tech sheet it says it cant be used with a 4l60e. I have to use a 4l65e or 4l70e or 4l80-85e. Does anyone sell a harness that i can use the 60? I didnt want to massage my tunnel so I went with the smaller tranny. Does anyone know what specific vehicles came with the 4l65E?
