Are LQ4 water pumps reverse rotation??
When looking at the front of the motor do they turn clockwise or counter?? Dumb question I guess but it had no belt when i got it and am building custom bracketry.

Depends on your point of view lol
If the side of the belt contacting the crank pulley (ribbed) is contacting the accessory pulley, the accessory is rotating in the same direction as the crank. If the opposite side (back/flat side of belt), the accessory is rotating in the opposite direction as the crank. You can use the same rules for selecting smooth or ribbed idler or tensioner pulleys.

I work on a lot of boats, some of which are reverse rotation. They used to make standard and counter rotation water pumps for BBC. Quite a few years ago, both pumps became the same part number. Guessing all that was needed was the impeller vane redesign. I didn't look too closely at the LS pump, but it might work in either direction.
