I am contemplating a 408+ ls2 aluminum block with those heads and a ls3 intake.
Im looking for 450/450 streetable and reliable.
Im picking up a shortblock and getting the rotating customized to my liking.
What compression would this work best with? 11:1? 11.5:1? Id like to remain about the 20mpg range
you dont need a stroker for 450/450. the stock ls2 with a comp 228-232, 588-592, 114+2 with heads milled .015 and cometic .040 gaskets, and 1 7/8 headers will get you there...streetable and reliable...

ls2 being aluminum i want to say i read somewhere cannot be safely bored out like an iron block so please google search to verify to avoid any disappointment. i personally dont think the strokers are worth the money but to each their own. i had wanted one but havent been impressed with their numbers to make me get one.

11.90s in a heavy truck. would be much faster in a car. Not dyno tested as I dont like dynos as they vary from type to type and stalls among other things affect numbers.
You have an actual track time?

I have a set of TEA Ported L92 Heads on a 4.030 Bore right now..and it's not cuttin it. I'm about to put them on a 4.135 Bore....and I bet it wakes the hell up. Smaller bores shroud these Heads. That is a FACT.

Aluminum Engines are being taken out .010 MAX on that stock bore..and that is if need be.

I have researched the *** out of these L92/LS3 Heads. My opinion is you should gather some more facts before posting misleading information. Smaller Engines are making power, yes. Bigger Engines make MORE power with these Heads..tons more power.

I'm putting together a 430ci LSX (4.000 Stroke, 4.135 Bore) with my TEA L92 Heads(flow ~350/280 CFM @ .600, 4.030 Bore), EFI Vic Jr, at 12.3:1 Compression and the current Cam I have now. Something tells me that it'll make more power than your 6.0l with "ported" LS3 Heads. The purpose with me building this is to flow the Heads I have.

No replacement for displacement.

What is wrong with the bore? You can make a 402 out of an LS2..or a 403 or a 404...

So Merv, what do you think the limit of hp/ torq would be with an LS6 cam, 4.005" bore, and the l92 heads, using the stock LS3 intake, with shortie's?
I am thinking that it might be hard to get less than 380/380 at the rear wheels? Or about 475/475 at the Flywheel; are you saying that it will not do it with the 4" bore?

11.94 at 114. I do post facts merv. I am glad you posted your combo is not cutting it cause i didnt want to be the one to post that but its a fact. The reason your combo isnt cutting it is rectangular port heads already have big intake ports and unless in the range of 65o plus hp best to not port intakes. The exhaust ports do need some work however. As for no replacement for displacement, usually true but fact is there are 5.7s and 6.0s in low 11s or faster and look at your combo, 11.42 aint cutting it. Yeah i agree youll need that 430 build to make more power than my 6.0 with me ported ls3 heads. I be embarassed to post such claim but oh well. I researched and even copied a proven combo and tweaked it a little.

not gonna get into a pissing match here. facts are as you stated your combo aint cutting it. mine on the other hand is. i am happy and would be glad to help you or anyone with a combo build.

No pissing match here..just what we've found out. That 11.46 was a run on just getting a baseline with the new Cam..if I had the opportunity to run another pass I have no doubt it would've been low 11.2's after the adjustments..then getting faster as I dialed it in more.

I plan on making more than 650 NA so I guess I have the Heads for it.

Hard to say..The Shortie's will hinder it since these Heads move air..

230/238 cam
1 7/8 headers

Glad I read this post, I am also researching a way to get 500rwhp out of my ls2. So far all I have come across is countless posts referring to LS3 heads/cam, but is 500hp obtainable with the stock ls2 manifolds? I am trying to avoid long tubes as ground clearance has always been an issue on third gen camaros.

Ground clearance is an issue on any Fbody..lol.

You'll find the Headers are pretty much needed.
