Default 408 PCV Questions?

Ok so i have a iron block 408 with LSA heads and ls3 intake. So im seeking advice on a pcv system.

Idea 1: I could buy a ls6 valley cover that has a pcv niple and run a hose from the niple to a catch can and from the catch can to the intake niple. I would then block off the drivers side pcv nipple. Then id run a hose from the throttle body to the fresh air inlet on the passenger side valve cover.

Basically im seeking advice on whether or not this will work. And is a catch can necessary, recomended, or just for guys who like the inside of there intake clean. I would appreciate your guys thoughts on this.

I blocked off my TB, and I run a split from the LS6 Valley and the intake nipple to the top of the Catch Can. Then the return goes to the valve cover. I blocked the other two valve cover lines.

So basically a pcv system doesnt need fresh air entering the motor?

I've seen others run from the LS6 to the Intake, and then block off everything else, without a catch can, but a catch can is better, for those metal shards that the oil pan doesn't pick up.

Im pulling from the driverside valve cover and the nipple on the valley cover into the catchcan than to the intake. Than the fresh air from the intake tube to the passenger side valve cover
