Default LQ4 & 4L80E questions (Cam vs converter)

I've got a stock 01 LQ4 w/ matching 4L80E and installing into a 3500ish lb project car and I'm trying to decide on a couple of things.

1) Does the stock roller lifters in a LQ4 have the raised area around the rollers to be able to use with big cams like the corvettes come with stock or will I have to get those?

2) I'm changing cams in this asap but I was thinking of leaving it 100% stock upon first fire up to get any bugs worked out, but it'd be a ton easier to change it all now while its out of the car. My question is, can a 231/237 .617/.607 112lsa cam work with a stock 4L80e converter? I mean I know it wouldn't be ideal at all but would it actually work? or is it a complete waste even trying?

3) Would it be smart to put in the Trans-go HD 2 shift kit in this trans or you think it'd be ok without?

4) Would the stock exhaust manifolds work with a cam'd N20 LQ4? I know they work great for turbo/super charged apps but I'm wondering about a basic N/A powered app.

Thanks for the help
