LQ9 build info help
Does anyone have a link to an actual build or there own combos that they would like to share. Been looking for threads with not much luck
I am starting with:
Lq9 with low miles from a caddy
Complete LS3 intake except tb
I have a budget but like anyone else I want as much bang for the buck.....It will be going into a 69 Camaro with a full TCI frame with a 6 speed. It will mostly be a street car but would like to get the most out of the engine as possible with out spending all the money on machinists...Any help would be great!!

Seriously though, stock heads should suit you just fine. I wouldn't have them ported or anything as they're already too big for a 6.0L in my opinion, but a good conservative cam will band aid a lot. Should be fun with a T56 behind it.
There are LS3/L92 heads in the classifieds sections all the time. I've seen them priced anywhere from $500 to $750 depending on the valves and what else they come with (rockers/springs/etc.).

Nothing special to put ls3 heads on a 6.0, just the heads and intake.Everything stays the same knock sensor and such.Make sure you get a cam designed for ls3 heads and check ptv clearance.I would mill the heads to get some compression bump.LS1GTO.com has a nice write up.

Here is my build thread, its long but has lots of pictures.
I started with a 200,000 mile 04 LQ9. For the mileage it still had cross hatches on the cylinder walls. I had it bored to 4.030, used speed pro pistons. It made 374/370 with an ls6 cam. I am pretty sure 400 was possible if I tuned the spark table. That cam is gone and I am currently trying to decide what cam route to go. I used stock L92 heads. Those heads are getting BTR springs, valve job and a light decking if needed.
